He Warms My Heart (With A Fire Poker)

My six year old son climbed up on my lap and asked, “Mom, why did God make me, and why did He make you, and why did He put me here?”

I said, “Well, God made you to be my son, and He made me to be your mother. And, He must love me very much because I sure am lucky to have you. I wouldn’t want any other little boy in the whole world to be mine.”

He replied, “Oh...but, can I get another Mom?”

OUCH!

My daughter once told me that she picked me when she was in heaven waiting for a family. I remind her of that whenever she wishes she had a different mom.

Well, you picked me!

Bwaahahahaha!

Your kids are on a roll this week!

Bwahahahahaha! He's got a future in stand-up, for sure! (or sit-down. Either one.)

I don't know if this is an "oh no, noooooo" or an "LOL" post. Either way, out of the mouths of babes....

Of course he didn't mean it that way. : )

Just the other day, I was cuddling with my three year old and I told her how much I love her and how much I love being her mommy...she cocked her head to one side and said: "I would like to get a new mommy, though."

They're just mean sometimes.

My six year old wants a new Dad. I guess the new mom will be next.

I've had this EXACT conversation before! After the initial "ouch" I've looked at it as a badge of honor. I must be doing something right if they want to replace me!

Awww how sweet. You must be so proud that you have instilled this level of wit in a child of such a tender age.

Ha!

Ouch. That's definitely a fire poker right there.

I'm sure he meant another mom just like you! I mean, two is better than one, right?

Nope. Not it . . .

Yeah, didn't think so.

Did you ask him exactly what he would DO with another mother? Maybe he's planning something diabolical.

Sometimes they make your heart almost burst with pride and other times they make it feel like a shriveled prune.

Kids...gotta love 'em.

That KID!

L.M.A.O.

What - is he, like, shopping?

;)

I swear, I'd never get anything done if mine were like your son. He gets me rolling over, every time. :D

Out of the mouth of babes!!! :)

As someone else said--OUCH!

punk.

kids.

can't live with 'em.

can't eat 'em.

You know what would have been even funnier? If you'd had said, "Yes, kiss mommy good-bye. You're going to live with your new one tomorrow." That's not mean, is it?

Like a knife to the heart....

sad... and your response was so tender...

Damn that's cold...

Rhetorical, right, it was just a rhetorical explore-ical reassure-me type question, right? At least, it was when my kids said something like that. It was like they wanted to know for sure that that was one thing that could never change.

Seriously, do you make this stuff up? Your son is TOO funny!

Although, my son offers up some zingers, too. Told the kid to pick up his toys or I was gonna put 'em in a black trash bag to give away.

After fussing and complaining, he got this exasperated look on his face and said, "Can you just put 'em in the BLACK BAG?!!!

Stubborn little thing! :P

He is priceless!

OMG I think I spit a little when I laughed out loud! LOL I'm sorry, I am sure that stung, but you know you had to laugh (on the inside) LOL

Nice.

Where is the love?

So funny.

Well, that's what you get for making him bathe and not letting him eat cupcakes for dinner.
Meanie!

Glad it's not just my kid doing that. I'll pass this along to my wife; it'll make her feel better.

Bwaaahhaaahaaahaaahaaahaa

Oh my hell. Love it.

Kids, they really know how to stick that knife in and twist it don't they? :-)

Ha ha ha ha...

Sorry - its been a really rotten day and really needed that laugh. Thank you!

ouch *L* made ya love him all the more I bet!

Hee hee, was there bruising?

Ouch!

Oh, that's harsh, but very funny.

HAH! Tell him only if he leaves you under his pillow for the Mommy Trade fairy.

What a stinker.. lol

Again; the comments. Every bit as good as the post itself. I love that little guy. Tell him I'll be his mommy; Kendall is forever asking me to have another kid!
