Now I Suppose You Want a Barn

About a month ago, my son and daughter created a makeshift Christmas list by sitting down and circling items in a toy catalog. My daughter hasn't wavered in her request for an iPod, a Nintendo DS and a Bongo Board. My son, however, can't seem to make up his mind.

His first list included Transformers, a marble roller-coaster, and any and all things Little Einstein. I shopped, his grandparent's shopped, and we thought the boy would have a very happy Christmas.

Roughly two weeks later, he decided he wanted a train, books, and some Webkinz. Then shortly after that, he took an interest in Backugan toys and added that to his list as well.

Despite trips back and forth to the store, and extra charges on the credit card, I thought we had things under control.

But all of that was before my son sat on Santa's lap and we found he had changed his tune yet again. As he stroked the jolly elf's beard, my boy put a sweet smile on his face, looked into Santa's eyes...and asked him to bring us a horse.

He probably thought his chances of getting a horse were better with Santa than mom and dad. They do make horse Webkinz I believe. =) That must have been what he meant.
Mine asked for a puppy AND an owl (from Harry Potter). I looked for both on Amazon, but alas, no such luck.
No Heather, I WISH that was what he meant. That's most likely what he will get though.

Sorry, gotta stop calling you that.

I sense a loophole here. Did he specify a real walking/breathing/eating/pooping type horse, or did he just say horse?

In this situation, I kinda feel like "Genie In The Lamp" rules apply: be very careful how you wish for what you wish, hehheh.

Get on the horn with Santa, you've got time to tell HIM to just bring him a horse figurine. Or maybe a sawHORSE, get it?

Man, I've been hanging around with contract writers...
You can't MacGyver one out of all the other toys?
There's still a few days left before Christmas. He'll no doubt change his mind a few more times. Wrap him up a zeppelin and call it good.
Remember my post about the Bakugon toys? Yeah, there is an ishload of them hidden in the closet and we just may have had to trample a few grandmas to get the goods.

Guess what? He's over it. He has a handful of them and he is content with that.

Now he wants the Starship Enterprise which is roughly the size of his bed. Can't hide that in the closet.

Good luck with the horse.
I don't shop until my kids write their letter to Santa. They are allowed to ask him for 3 things. We work on the list together so that something impractical, um, like a horse, does not appear on the list. So far, they have always gotten their 3 things plus a pretty cool stocking.

You are far more patient that I am. Christmas is stressful enough. I refuse to make multiple trips to return things.

Good luck with that horse;)
This is the same dilemma you go through at Halloween...they say they want to be xyz and you make and xyz costume and then the week before Halloween they announce they want to be abc. It doesn't pay to be proactive and get ahead of yourself with kids :P

My son asked sat on the Santa's lap at my company's Christmas party and asked for a Rolex. I didn't even know he knew what a Rolex was.
I will pay you a rather significant amount of money ($10) if you put a tube of glue in his stocking.
Feel free to steal my line:

"Santa called and what with the economy and all, he had to pick up some slack for the parents who lost their jobs, and well, you can bet your sweet hiney I won't be purchasing an such *insert animal here*"
You can't forget the barn, some hay, a saddle, a field to ride it in...I suppose his list could be endless really. Glad mine aren't that big yet. :)
A horse is bad but I can top that...our daughter asked for a dinosaur...thank goodness Spike is on sale or we would have had bupkiss!!
So did Santa have your back?
Yeah, c'mon, Mom, pony up.
ha ha ha !
My Emma told Santa to surprise her and get whatever. I LOVE that child!
bahahahaha to Mr. Lady's comment.. that is sooo wrong but so flucking funny...
It seems obvious the boy is testing the big guy. Wants to see if he can really deliver. Brilliant.
Actually, I heard all of Santa's horses got really sick and um turned into rocks. Yep. That's why I don't get one this year.
When I was a kid I asked for a horse MANY times. Never got one. Santa can be an ass sometimes.
he must have heard that you can get a little horse from all that talking.

(aw heck, that really doesn't work unless it's said out loud)
Oh Crap...that will be one big charge on the ole credit card, huh?

What a cutie!
Heh heh. I hate it when they that. Snort.
Happy Christmas babe
I think the "Neighs" have it...
I thought of something completely different when you said marble roller coaster... but marble's the brand name, right? :)
haha last minute christmas gift ideas are always a handful. At least he didn't ask for that Christian the Lion from You Tube.
Oh dear. Well, I hope he loved what you got him. :)
