I am a pig hater. Oh, I like bacon, ham and sausage and all...but, when I'm the sickest I have been in about seven years, and it's because some pig went and mutated the flu virus, then I have every right to hate pigs.
I have H1N1, also known as swine flu. I did everything right. I got my seasonal flu shot the first week they were available and planned on getting the H1N1 vaccine. I wash my hands A LOT, I wipe off my shopping carts at the entrance to the grocery store, I use hand sanitizer as soon as I leave a place where I have touched anything and I never, ever use a drinking fountain.
I am taking Tamiflu and have been resting and drinking lots of water for the last two days, but I am still fighting a fever, aches and a cough. I have asthma, so that coughing thing scares me quite a bit. I'm pretty concerned about my kids too. My daughter went to bed with a headache (which was one of my early symptoms) and my son is high risk because of his heart. Your prayers are appreciated.
This blog is mostly light-hearted and I would like to keep it that way. I'm taking a break. I am really sick and if I wrote anything it would likely be a whole lot of complaining. Just ask my husband.
Please send good thoughts our way. This virus is so not good for my anxiety issues.

My asthmatic kid just got over a REALLY bad round of the flu, which hit right after we came home from Mexico.
I'm suddenly very mad at myself for not taking him to the doctor. Thinking of you, baby.

I hope your children don't get it, it's scary, my baby has had pneumonia 2 times this year, so I am scared for him to get it also. again praying for you my dear, take it easy, and let your famiily, neighbors help you!

I work for a children's hospital (I'm not clinical) and it's mandatory for all employees to get vaccinated for seasonal flu. I got the flu mist today (so easy!) but the H1N1 vaccine isn't available yet. The sad thing is that having it once doesn't mean you won't again. U G H.
They recommend NOT going to the doctor if you have the flu as to stop spreading it to others. I am thinking about you and hope you're symptom free soon and no one else in your family gets it.

Momo! Of course I'm sending prayers and good thoughts your way! I hope no one else in your house gets H1N1 (what a stupid name, Swine Flu is better). Just keep resting and drinking fluids and hopefully this passes quickly without doing too much damage. Hugs from me!

I had it weekend before last. It was awful--but the worst of it went away in three days. I'm high risk on many fronts, from autoimmune cardiac to asthma to you name it, so if I got it done with so easily, I'm praying you all do too. Hang in there. (With much sympathy from me.)
